Designer Yeohlee Teng put it simply: “Fashion rules in America because of the CFDA.” Case in point: the scene in the VIP lounge above Sunglass Hut’s Times Square flagship on Tuesday night, where a mix of designers, bloggers and It Girls turned up to celebrate the launch of the CFDA and Vogue Eyewear’s second annual capsule collection. This year, the organization selected three designers—Yeohlee Teng, Monica Botkier, and Rebecca Minkoff—to create sunglasses inspired by American cities.

Yeohlee Teng created a pair of cat-eye frames with ombre lenses in honor of Los Angeles. She drew inspiration from the fact that everyone drives in the city. “L.A. has a car culture,” she said. “So you need the coolest glasses for the coolest car.” She and Miuccia Prada should talk! [More]
