The Potter Premieres
After the tearful London premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the cast crossed the Atlantic over the weekend to begin promoting the film in the States. Emma Watson shone in a coppery Bottega Veneta gown at the New York premiere of the film, while Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe were both suited and booted. They were joined on the red carpet by Sarah Jessica Parker, America Ferrera and Melissa Joan Hart.
Earlier in the day, Emma wore looks by Balmain and Prada to promote the film on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Today Show.
Friday July 8 2011, 10.46am: Emotions were running high in Trafalgar Square last night for the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Emma Watson, in an Oscar de la Renta dress and a jacket by Antonio Berardi, joined co-stars Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe on the long red carpet walk from Trafalgar Square to Leicester Square, spending hours with their fans.
Tears were shed by Harry Potter author JK Rowling - who wore a floor-length floral gown also by de la Renta - as she thanked the readers of her books, and Vogue cover girl Watson, too, cried as she bid farewell to the films that propelled her into superstardom.
Molly King (in Julien MacDonald), Helena Bonham Carter (in Vivienne Westwood), Clémence Poésy (in Nina Ricci), and Bonnie Wright (in Miu Miu and Wright & Teague jewellery), all worked their fashion magic on the red carpet. After the screening, the party moved on to the Old Billingsgate Market, where Watson (in Elie Saab), joined Eliza Doolittle (in Christopher Kane), Emma Roberts and Nicholas Hoult for the festivities.
